Stanley Mouse

Stanley George Miller or Stanley Mouse is an American artist best known for inventing the Grateful Dead's skull and roses logo as well as doing pretty much all of their artwork. Mouse began his career airbrushing Weirdo Hot Rod art on t-shirts at car shows and selling his other works through his mail-order company, Mouse Studios. In the mid to late sixties, he was part of a group of hippies called The Family Dog who would organize dances and promote shows in the San Francisco area. Through this group, Stanley Mouse started making show posters and eventually got to do promotional work for classic acts such as Big Brother and the Holding Company, The Steve Miller Band and Journey.
